Joseph Joestar is a confirmed SR unit from Part 3 in JoJo: Golden Spirit (fighting style not yet revealed). Here’s who they are and whether they’re worth chasing at launch.

⚠️ Not verified yet: we have not checked Joseph Joestar’s exact skills, stats or star-up path against the live game. This page covers what is confirmed — rarity, Part and fighting style — together with the source material. The full kit lands here once we can take it from the game itself rather than from a pre-release listing.

Who is Joseph Joestar?

Joseph is the returning veteran of the Joestar line — the Part 2 hero who comes back in Part 3: Stardust Crusaders as an older mentor and the grandfather of Jotaro. Once a brash Hamon user famous for outsmarting foes rather than overpowering them, he now anchors the group with the same cunning, misdirection and last-second trickery that always kept him a step ahead of stronger opponents.

Stand: Hermit Purple

In Part 3, Joseph’s age awakens a Stand: Hermit Purple, a tangle of thorny purple vines. It’s a poor brawler by Stand standards, but it shines as a tool of divination — Joseph smashes a camera or a crystal ball and forces Hermit Purple through it to produce spirit photographs, cryptic images that reveal a hidden enemy’s location or the shape of a threat to come. It turns him into the party’s scout and reader of clues rather than a front-line hitter.

Because Joseph’s source ability leans on information and setup rather than raw damage, it’s worth watching which of the fighting styles he lands in before you build around him. We’ll confirm his actual skills the moment they’re public.

Should you reroll for Joseph Joestar?

An SR is a dependable early-roster piece rather than a headline pull, and Golden Spirit rewards a balanced team over any single unit. If Joseph is a favourite, keep him as a happy bonus on a wider reroll — see the reroll guide and check where he settles on the tier list.
